CEO & Founder, Framing Futures Architectural Firm (FFAF)
A. Alberto Lugo is the CEO and founding partner of Framing Futures Architectural Firm (FFAF), established in Southern California in 2019. He oversees daily operations and design processes across a diverse, sustainability-led portfolio and works closely with the executive board to recruit top talent to plan and deliver innovative commercial and public projects.
Prior to FFAF, Alberto served over a decade as Senior Architect with leading firms including Parkins & Rhodon (New York) and Fentrell Architects (San Francisco). He previously advanced from Senior Architectural Design Strategist to Senior Architect at Macaby & Roy, and began his journey at his father’s firm in Albany, NY after an early internship. He also spent time as a business consultant in NYC.
He holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Pennsylvania (2000) and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University (2002, with distinction), followed by advanced study in Building Science & Technology, Environmental Systems, and environmentally conscious design.
Across two decades, Alberto has contributed to public-space renovations with the San Francisco Historic Buildings Committee (2012), delivered a first-of-its-kind NYC structure built entirely from recycled materials for the Hagman’s Group (2015), and led community-forward work including a shopping center, a multi-story house of worship, and affordable housing initiatives.
His recent focus centers on sustainable architecture—integrating natural habitats and water systems into resilient buildings and urban plans.

Alberto volunteers his pro-bono services with Habitat for Humanity, Homes for Veterans, and the Make It Right at Home Foundation. In 2015, he founded the Architecture & Earth Awareness Foundation to promote green building practices among architects, constructors, and engineers—impacting more than 400 large-scale projects worldwide.
